In a large mixing bowl, whisk lukewarm milk, yeast and sugar. Cover and set aside for 10-15 minutes until the mixture is foamy. Add in 1 egg, 3 tablespoons melted butter, 400 grams flour and 1 teaspoon salt. Mix with spatula, cover and set aside for 1 hour.
Once the dough has risen, sprinkle over flour and gently punch the dough to release the carbon dioxide. Move the dough to a flat surface and fold it over 3-5 times. Divide and roll it into 16 pieces.
Take one piece and flatten it out. Add 2 tablespoon cheese in the center and cover it by bringing the sides in. Roll it in your palm to form an oval shape. Cover the cheese dough balls for 10 minutes allowing it to rise. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
Place the cheese dough balls in a baking dish over parchment paper and bake for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden brown. Mix melted butter, chopped cilantro and garlic in a bowl while the buns are baking.
Remove the buns from the oven and brush over the garlic butter mixture and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before serving.
