It is a flavorful spice blend which comes from the Cajun cuisine in the Acadiana region of Louisiana, United States. We know Cajun cuisine for its bold and aromatic flavors from spices like paprika, cayenne and dried herbs. Basically, everyone has their own take on the recipe with a minute change in the measurement of the herbs and spices, or by adding an ingredient or two. All in all, the name remains the same.
