Why purchase Cajun seasoning from the store when you can make it at home with readily available ingredients. It only takes a few minutes to prepare and you can store it for a year, but I doubt it will last for even six months. This commonly used Cajun spice mix is so versatile, it can be sprinkled on most of the dishes out there. Don’t believe me ? I’ve listed some foods below where you can use this seasoning.

    What is Cajun seasoning?

Let us dive into the question we all have. What is Cajun seasoning and where did it come from? It is a flavorful spice blend which comes from the Cajun cuisine in the Acadiana region of Louisiana, United States. We know Cajun cuisine for its bold and aromatic flavors from spices like paprika, cayenne and dried herbs. Basically, everyone has their own take on the recipe with a minute change in the measurement of the herbs and spices, or by adding an ingredient or two. All in all, the name remains the same.
